Hi, I'm Varsha Prabhu, a computer science and machine learning enthusiast.

I'm currently working at Tesco as a Software Development Engineer with the User Generated Content team. A computer science graduate from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, I'm passionate about building products that have a direct impact on peoples' lives and bring value to the society. As an aspiring Machine Learning Engineer, I'm constantly learning to develop more skills and knowledge in the areas of Multilingual NLP and ML to be able to contribute in the education and healthcare spaces in future.

In my free time, I play my harmonium and try cooking new dishes. I also watch a few web series and some movies.

· Built a proof of concept of a referral recommendation system with TescoLabs. The project has been chosen for productionisation.
· Created RESTful APIs in Java to ingest from and serve ratings and reviews to different online businesses of Tesco.
· Automated the CI/CD pipeline for different microservices on AWS using docker, terraform, jenkins and github.
· Designed and built microservices using SpringBoot to handle storage and processing of reviews and ratings.
· Working on building a system to facilitate manual and automated moderation of user generated content.

· Implemented scrapers to fetch profile image links and fetch or guess social media links corresponding to websites and store them in the database to facilitate a fast search on them.
